ROTARY PLANS TWO MAJOR CHARITY CONCERTS
Two important charities - one local to North Norfolk - will benefit from two major
concerts planned by Cromer and Sheringham Rotary Club this summer. Both will be held in
the superb setting of Cromer Parish Church.
The first concert - on Friday, July 24 - sees the unexpected return by public demand of
world famous organist, Nigel Ogden, and will be held in aid of the locally-based North
Norfolk Association for the Blind. The second is on Friday, September 11 and will feature
the award-winning Norfolk Brass band. The proceeds from this concert will go to Diabetes
UK.
Nigel Ogden is well-known as presenter of BBC's 'The Organist Entertains' and has already
appeared several times in Cromer for Rotary concerts. His unique style on the organ has
made him one of the country's most popular performers. In recent years, Norfolk Brass has
risen to the very top and, in March, won the London and Southern Counties final putting
them through to the final in Harrogate - the equivalent of winning the football
Premiership - in September.
Full details of the concerts will be announced shortly, but both are expected to be a
sell-out. |
