Blickling Hall, Garden & Estate
Magic of Christmas
Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December, 5 - 9pm
Why not enjoy a magical evening visit to parts of Blickling Hall that have been seasonally
decorated. This ever-popular event will include a large craft marquee filled with
Christmas gift ideas and entertainment for all the family. Seasonal food will be available
and there will be the chance to stretch your vocal chords and join in with some carol
singing. There will be timed tickets to enter the Hall so that you really can soak up the
festive atmosphere (between 5 and 9pm). Advance ticket adult £9.25, child £5.20. On the

Crafts for Christmas

Vast selection of quality Christmas gift ideas in one large heated marquee. A variety of
crafts including ceramics, jewellery, clothing and pictures.

Tree Dressing Day
Sunday 13 December, 11am - 3.30pm
Join in the celebration of trees and be involved in dressing a tree in the garden with
ribbons and shapes. Make your decoration to hang in the tree. Activities for children,
storytelling, face painting. Garden Entry.

The Hall at Christmas

Carols in the Courtyard

A small present for every child when Father Christmas arrives at 2pm, followed by
traditional carol singing at 3pm. Seasonal refreshments available. Free.

Festive Foliage Workshop
Saturday 5 December, 10am - 4pm
Create your own decoration to take home for Christmas. Natural materials will be provided.

A Christmas Evening
Wednesday 16 December, 7.30pm
Soak up the atmosphere in the Saloon at Oxburgh Hall and enjoy an evening performance with
the Phoenix Singers. There will be the opportunity to enjoy hot punch and mince pies, not
forgetting if you arrive early (from 5pm) there will be the chance for some late night

Victorian Christmas
Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 December, 11am - 4pm
Relive the splendour of a traditional Victorian family Christmas and see the Hall in all
its splendour and meet the characters involved. Enjoy festive music, carol singers, bell
ringers and don't forget to indulge yourself with hot chestnuts, mince pies and mulled
wine. There will be craft activities for children, not forgetting the chance to meet
Father Christmas and his elves. The gift shop will be open for Christmas shopping and the
restaurant will be serving a traditional roast dinner between 12 and 2pm. Adult £4, child

Sheringham Park

Best foot forward to walk off the feast
The festive season is upon us and with it, much eating. If youre
feeling a little full, or just need a break from relentless family fun, the National Trust
has loads of Christmas walks to help you get out and enjoy the best of the British
countryside. Let the National Trust help you choose where to get out with these guided
walks and trails, set in some of the most beautiful places in the East of England and led
by passionate and enthusiastic staff.
Dave Brady is the Forester at Blickling Hall in Norfolk, Winter is a brilliant time
to get into our countryside and enjoy the open views, winter migrants and fresh blustery
air. Its a really unique and beautiful time of year and theres always loads to
see. Also, you can guarantee youll feel better for it!

A guided walk like this offers the chance to explore stunning estates with
knowledgeable staff wholl help you see new things, whether its your first or
50th visit. But if you cant make one of these dates, dont worry! Lots of
places are open for winter walks, check www.nationaltrust.org.uk for details of your local
property. At Wimpole (Cambridgeshire), Blickling (Norfolk) and Sutton Hoo, (Suffolk) you
can also warm up afterwards with some hearty soup or a good cuppa in the restaurant, open
throughout the winter.

Blickling Estate Walks - Sunday 13 December & New Years Day, 2pm
Join National Trust Walk Leaders for a guided walk to discover a little history of the
Blickling Estate. Assemble by the Barn in the main car park to depart at 2pm. The walk
will take approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours & lead back to the main car park. Parking fees
apply. £2 per person.

Oxburgh Hall, Norfolk
Christmas Estate Walk - Sunday 6 December, 10.30am 2pm
Enjoy a warm drink before a guided walk of the estate with Head Gardener, Graham Donachie.

Sheringham Park, Norfolk
Sheringham Park Ramble - Sunday 6 December, 2pm at Visitor Centre
Volunteer-led ramble starting from the visitor centre. Route varies through the year. You
must have suitable clothing and footwear and the ability to walk for at least two hours.
Dogs on leads please. Free to all. Car park charges apply for non-members.
