TOPIC RESPONSE: THE BUDGET
If this is supposed to be the best budget ever for those on a low income, how come I am
going to be even worse off? I have written to my local MP who has passed my enquiry on to
the Chancellor asking him to point out exactly where the benefits are for me. If I get a
response, I will pass it on to you! PTC
Dear Editor
I have to take my car to work as there is no public transport, so fuel tax rises will hit
me, also I am on a low income, therefore will be paying extra tax now that the 10p rate
has gone up to 20p. Luckily I don't smoke or drink, so I might be able to survive until
I'm 25 years old without having to resort to a cardboard box outside my workplace. IH

Help your young people
Sheringham Skate Park seeks your help & support for the young people of Sheringham.
Developed in response to the closures of community facilities in 1999, the park has proved
very successful with the young people of Sheringham. Used by tourists and young people
from other larger towns, the skate park brings business into Sheringham and reduces
anti-social behaviour by relocating young people from the town centre.
A new Committee (including parents and youth representatives) was brought in to run the
Club in 2006, and has been working hard through the winter to plan for the future.
The Committee has 3 key goals for the project:
1. Apply essential safety maintenance and renew insurances by May 2007
2. Add shelters, lighting, storage, and bins/recycling units throughout 2007
3. Update the park design in 2008, including new materials to reduce maintenance
The project receives no statutory funding, needing ongoing repairs to keep it operational
and safe (in the region of £4000 for 2007). Without funding, the park will close and the
young people will have nowhere to go. The Sheringham Skate Park Committee would be
grateful to all who can contribute funds to the annual maintenance. Please don't pledge
money on your doorstep - visit www.sheringhamskate.co.uk for details, call Rob Sayles on
07950 650538, or drop in to the SheringhamPlus shop.

Crystal Energy Healing
"Having worked in the care sector for 20 years looking after people of all ages
and disabilities I felt I needed to develop spiritually to be able to help others more
efficiently and on a wider level. Having used crystals for my own health and well being
for several years I felt in my heart that I could put my knowledge and enlightenment to
the greater good of all so completed a crystal healing course A grade with the School of
Natural Health Science.
Crystals aid healing through high vibrations, emitting and absorbing electo-magnetical
energy (EMT). Crystals heal holistically working on the physical, emotional, mental and
spiritual levels of life. Crystals rebalance the bio-magnetic sheath (aura) that surrounds
the physical body activating the linkage points to the chakras. Chakras regulate the
bodys vibrations; bringing the chakras back into balance can relieve physical or
mental discomfort.
Crystal treatments are performed lying down by the placing of crystals on or around the
body to promote healing, harmony and balance. You do not remove any clothing only shoes
and there is no physical contact between practitioner and patient.
It is a very relaxing and peaceful treatment. All that is needed is that you wear loose
fitting clothing to allow the free flow of energy around the body and the removal of any
jewellery or belts and other metal objects that could disrupt the energy flow.
I am a mobile crystal energy practitioner working within a 15 mile radius of Sheringham.
Feel free to call to discuss crystal healing or to book an appointment, I will be glad to
hear from you. Bright Blessings."
The Royal Air Forces Association - Sheringham & District
2006 - 2007 The Branch's most successful year in its history by being awarded the
President's Cup for its overall performance in fundraising and membership and receiving an
Illuminated Address for recruiting more new members than any other Branch. In addition the
Branch now has the 4th highest number of Associate Members and its Wings Week Collection
of £10,250 was the 12th highest out of the 207 branches in the South East & Eastern
Area of the Association. Before calling on Air Marshal Philip Sturley, the President of
the Royal Air Forces Association to address the members, Sir Colin said he wished to say a
few words as to why the Branch was one of the most successful Branches in the whole area.
He said that our Associate Members played a vital role in the Branch's fundraising and as
a result over 29% of our total membership playing its part. Our luncheons were very
popular with at least 35% of our members as regular attenders. He wished to thank the
North Norfolk News and the eight Free Sheets in our catchment area for publishing the
reports of our luncheons and other activities. As a result of this widespread publicity
new members are regularly joining the Branch. He went on to say that all members were
treated as equal regardless of their former rank. We are all just very good friends trying
to raise as much money as possible for the welfare of all former members of the RAF who
are in need of assistance.
