North Norfolk Cats Lifeline Trust

We have been extremely busy over the last few weeks, with numerous pregnant cats and mothers with kittens having been abandoned or lost. This is the time of year when people start thinking about holidays. Often they have a cat and do not wish to pay for it to go into a boarding cattery. If the cat has not been vaccinated no cattery will accept it, for obvious reasons so - what do you do? Sometimes you have a neighbour who will offer to feed your cat while you are away. This can be a solution but it should be made clear whether your cat will be kept indoors or allowed out during the day. Unfortunately if you have not bothered to neuter her, your cat may become pregnant. What will happen to her kittens? How long do you make sure that people with whom you home them will give them a good home? Very young children are not suitable to have unless parents are prepared to supervise them all the time. We have many terrified brought to us where young children have been involved, with the kitten treated as a toy. If you are elderly have you thought what will happen to your cat if you go into care or become ill? Your family may not be able to look after your cat, so you should think ahead and plan where it will go, if you can no longer care for it. We have several lovely cats waiting for homes, whose loving owners have had to move and are unable to take their pets, though no fault of their own.

GIZMO 18 months a gorgeous ginger and white boy now neutered and inoculated, he is very affectionate and playful. MAGGIE Tabby and white girl spayed and inoculated. Very sweet and friendly (1year). SOPHIE- Abandoned. Her kittens were born the day after she arrived here. They have all been safely homed and Sophie is now spayed and ready for a home. She is tabby and white- a pretty girl (1 year). LEO Handsome black boy neutered and inoculated. Nervous but very loving and gentle when he knows you. (About 2 years). SOLO History unknown but found wandering and very frightened. He is beginning to trust us now and is very beautiful black and white with the loveliest green eyes. (About 2-3 years). There are many more.  There are just a few who need loving homes. There will be kittens ready for homing in about 4 weeks. If you are a responsible person who would really love to have a cat/kitten please ring for an appointment on 01263 822 560 to come and see them all.

We have recently lost several volunteers due to incapacity and are in urgent need of help for feeding and cleaning. Can you spare two hours, one morning a week. Please phone Mrs Reed on 01263 822 560. Own transport essential, please help us to help the cats!
