Sheringham Skate Park has recently been awarded two grants for
improvements to safety of the park. Both the Norfolk Community Foundation and Sheringham
Community Partnership have provided a lifeline to the project for the coming year.
The Committee will soon be meeting with local young people and project partners to start
the next round of work, which will include:
1. Structural repairs
2. Resurfacing
3. Safety and insurance audits
This forms part of the ongoing project planning and rollout, ultimately leading to a
complete redesign of the park in 2008. The Committee is hopeful that the project
will receive additional grant funding from the Local Network Fund in August; these funds
will be used to improve shelter, lighting, and provide litter & recycling bins to the
park. The Sheringham Skate Park Committee would like to hear from all those who have
positive or negative comments on the project - it's vitally important that the whole town
has a say in this project. Visit www.sheringhamskate.co.uk
for details, call Rob Sayles on 07950 650538, or drop in to the SheringhamPlus shop.
