Bacon & Potato Frittata

6 rashers bacon, cut into thick strips
8 large eggs
1/4 pint milk
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 lb cooked baby new potatoes, halved
2 oz cheddar cheese, grated

Whisk the eggs & milk - season. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large frying pan and fry the bacon until browned and just beginning to crisp. Set aside. Add garlic and potatoes to the pan and cook for 3 minutes, turning the potatoes occasionally until golden brown. Return the bacon to the pan.

Pour in the egg mixture and cook over a low heat for 4 minutes, drawing the edges of the mixture into the centre of the pan allowing any raw egg mixture to run into spaces created. Sprinkle over the cheese and cook under a pre-heated grill until golden brown and completely set. Serve with salad.

Macmillan Fund Raiser Sheringham Social Club Friday 28th September

Despite the abysmal weather conditions several members turned out for the coffee morning but what started as a damp cold morning, turned into a “knock-out” fund raising evening at Sheringham Social Club on Friday.

Club Steward Paul Trabucchi, Committee members Stacey Geary and Diane Squire organised a Sports theme fancy dress disco at the club with various events such as a Penalty shoot out, putting contest, a sport quiz, spot the ball and an archery come darts competition, all played in a good humoured manner. Thanks to Martin and Spike the DJ’s for donating their fee to the fund and to Monica for running the raffle.

During the evening an auction of sporting memorabilia was held with the prize lot a signed boxing glove from boxer Amir Khan, this saw some strong bidding but was eventually won by club member Terry Webb seen below receiving his prize from Club Steward Paul Trabucchi, seen dressed as John Mcenroe!  The total amount raised on the day was £805 and Paul would like to thank everyone who contributed to make it such a successful event.

The Morley Club

Summer is definitely over. The cold, dreary days of winter are approaching fast. If you want to liven up a dull November afternoon then there are three great indoor activities this year at The Morley. The Bridge Section has restarted its Friday 2.00 p.m. sessions to accompany the regular Thursday evening game. It's very sociable and you don't have to be an expert to join in. Beginners are welcome and partners can be arranged. Ring George at the Club on 01263 822087 for more info. If you'd like something to do on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon then come and have a go at Carpet Bowls. The Club is actively seeking new members for their informal and friendly sessions from about 1.45 to 4.45 p.m. If you've never played before, don't worry. Come and try it for free.   The third activity is nothing new. Everybody surely knows by now that The Morley has the best Snooker Room in the area. Tables are available from 11.00 a.m. And, if all that afternoon activity has left you needing a bit of evening entertainment then don't miss north Norfolk's favourite band, the fabulous Ugly Dog Skiffle Combo at The Morley on Saturday 10th November. Never mind the 5th, the 10th will be a night to remember. All welcome.
