WEST RUNTON SCOUT GROUP
Waste Paper Recycling Project, West Runton Scout Headquarters has a paper
skip to take any clean paper and magazines. It is accessible at any time and this not only
helps the environment but also raises funds for the Scout Group.
Summer Camps. Cubs had a weekend camp at West Runton and made use of the beach, learnt
more about camping skills and cooking and had a great camp fire. Scouts went away for a
week to Cannock Chase and enjoyed cooking mainly on wood fires. A pioneering challenge was
to build a special gateway to our site and so it included flags, two swings and a style.
Activities included archery, canoeing and rafting, abseiling and a day out was spent at
the Drayton Manor Theme Park mid week! Both camps were enjoyed by all participants and our
new camp equipment was again being well used.
Sandringham Party
Queen's Scout Award holders from West Runton were invited for a special event hosted by
the Duke of Edinburgh at Sandringham on 6th October. Our members who hold this top award
came from far and wide to join in this special celebration.

"Here Comes the Rain,
Mama!"
A new album by Bright Spark from Norwich was given to me to review.
They've produced a laid back good feel album.
It comes with many styles and influences: Good clean guitar;a
"Specials" Two Tone feel; a clean Beatles feel with R&B Shuffle and trad.
Les Paul guitar drive to cap it off. There's almost a folk feel in there with
nice acoustic guitar to warm it. Obviously the tracks don't have all these feels at
the same time but reflect a textured approach to blending different combinations.
I'm particularly impressed by the moody and haunting reprise of the title
track which packed a real punch. There's even a track with a Santana sound (Les Paul
and drums aplenty) which worked well. Overall a good album. Ideal for a classy
lively bar/club. I like this album. It pushes perameters. Good
Rock/RocknRoll guitar always sells it to me.
A passionate and moody album. Well worth checking out. (www.travellingrecords.co.uk) Well done

Maybe we should start the diet classes in the New Year.
