Support your local shops

I have been into several Sheringham Shops over the last few days and they have a really good selection of unusual gifts at reasonable prices.

Many of the Greengrocers, Butchers, etc do Gift Vouchers too, and the person that has everything still has to eat!!

Use them or Lose them as the saying goes.

The Norfolk and Norwich Association for The Blind

The Norfolk and Norwich Association for The Blind (NNAB) equipment centre in North Norfolk is based in Cromer at The Cottage, Louden Road and is open every Tuesday 09:30am to 1pm. It is run by staff from Norwich and volunteers and has samples of the equipment the NNAB can supply to blind and partially sighted people to make everyday living with sight loss, a little easier.

Useful things such as coin holders, large buttoned telephones and speaking clocks through to talking microwaves and magnification equipment can all be provided. A visually impaired artist used magnification equipment to paint the design of our 2007 Christmas card.

Please come and see us - we might be able to find just the thing you are looking for; from making a cup of tea without overfilling the cup, to knowing what colours your clothes are in your wardrobe! We also have a full time community worker, Thelma Lowe, who covers North Norfolk and a voluntary presence at the eye clinic at Cromer Hospital.

If you, or anyone you know, requires help from the NNAB, please contact us on 01603 629558 or via e-mail at office@nnab.co.uk. We provide an array or services and can put you in contact with other organisations across the county who can also help and support you. For more information, or to become a volunteer, log on to www.nnab.co.uk or call us on the number above.

Help The Blind

Help The NNAB and The Environment by recycling your old, unused mobile handsets. By donating your old mobiles you can help your local blind charity and help us to improve our services to people in the county.

Just drop your old mobile phone into our Charity Shop on Magdalen Street, into the NNAB on Magpie Road, Norwich or into your local NNAB Equipment & Information Centre. If you have any queries or require further information, please contact Lydia O'Brien on 01603 629558 or alternatively e-mail lydiaobrien@nnab.co.uk.  The local Charity for Blind and Partially Sighted People in Norfolk
