Happy Birthday Restore!
When Restore, The Benjamin Foundation's furniture re-use scheme, opened for business in
February 2007, its main objectives were to provide affordable, good quality furniture and
white goods, to divert significant tonnes of 'bulky waste' from landfill in North Norfolk,
to provide volunteering and work experience opportunities and to become a financially
sustainable social enterprise. The scheme was set up to provide basic furniture at a price
that was affordable to individuals and families in need.
We are thrilled to report that by the end of our first year:
· We have helped over 70 individuals or families by providing free or discounted items of
furniture
· We have sold 2085 items to members of the general public
· We have diverted 53 tonnes of bulky waste from landfill
· We have been helped by 9 regular volunteers who have given 929 hours of their time to
help establish Restore.
· Our income from sales and re-cycling credits has risen steadily and we are very close
to reaching our target of sustainability.
The huge success of the scheme means that we pleased to announce that we are now able to
open our doors on a 4th day each week, so are open on the Hempstead Road Industrial Estate
in Holt every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
The whole staff team, including volunteers, feels very proud of what has been achieved in
such a short space of time, and looks forward to building on these firm foundations.

Were on the move!
NoNoPS has outgrown the lounge room at the Holt Community centre and will be relocating
to the Loades Hall at the Holt Methodist Church from March 5th where the Annual Print
Competition is being judged. The winning print will then go 'head-to-head' with the
winning slide to determine the Image of the Year, which will grace the cover of next
seasons programme. Before that we have one more meeting at the Community Centre on
February 20th when Bob Eaton will be explaining 'All About AVI' (Audio Video Interleaved),
digitally projected images with commentary and/or music.

The Societys popularity and increase in membership has also produced an increase
in the number of entries in print competitions. This was highlighted in the recent
Best All Rounder when Jim Till CPAGB judged 109 prints on 5 set subjects. It
was a mammoth task but Jim managed to comment on and mark each picture. The winner was
John Humberstone scoring 38/40 points Congratulations to John and to the joint
runners-up Brian Singleton and Barrie Price. There are moves afoot to make the numbers of
print entries more manageable watch this space, maybe it is not just our venue that
is changing. Visitors are always welcome; we meet alternate Wednesdays 7 for 7.30pm. Visit
our website www.nonops.org for more programme details,
contact nos. etc. and have a look at some of our work. Ring Judy Knights on 01263 825418
