PRESS RELEASE FOR 200 MILE SPONSORED WALK AROUND NORFOLK IN AID OF MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

One in three of us will get cancer. We are all affected by cancer and our family was no exception. During this most difficult time Macmillan Cancer Support came to our aid. They are able to help in so many ways offering guidance, counselling and moral support to not only the patient but the affected family as well.

They have specialist health professionals and can arrange financial support in cases of hardship. What is most surprising is that 99% of their funding has to come from charitable donations.
This is why I decided to attempt a sponsored walk to repay some of the help that has been made available to us.

Starting at Hunstanton I'll walk around the coast to Lowestoft and then inland following the Angles Way footpath through Beccles , Bungay, Harleston and Diss to Knettishall Heath near Thetford. From there the Peddars Way footpath goes north through Castle Acre and back to the coast at Holme-next-the-sea. A total distance of approximately 200 miles. I plan to start on 21st March and hope to finish on 6th April, weather and old legs permitting!
On the way I will hand out leaflets showing the ways I can be sponsored . If I do not bump into you then there are collection boxes at various establishments en route but the easiest way to donate is via the website www.justgiving.com/eddiebakermacmillan
I ask you all to sponsor me and provide Macmillan Cancer Support with the financial backing to continue their invaluable work.

My progress can be monitored at www.bakerlite.net
