People's Record - Mass Vox Pop
Do you remember the last time the Olympics were held in London in 1948?
If so Sheringham Library would welcome your help.
The People's Record is a national community archive project of people's experiences in
Britain of hosting the Olympic Games in 1948 and will look forward to the 2012 Olympic
Games and Paralympic Games.
In Sheringham we want to record people's memories of the Olympics in 1948. The aim is to
collect, store and share memories on the BBC website Memoryshare.
On Wednesday 24 September 2-3.30pm Sheringham Library will be hosting an intergenerational
event involving older people and local school children who will enter people's
reminiscences and responses onto the Memorysave website.
We are currently looking for older people who would be willing to participate in this
project.

NORTH NORFOLK CATS LIFELINE TRUST
SUMMER SALE, SATURDAY, 7th JUNE
ST. ANDREW'S HALL SHERINGHAM.
Despite pouring rain, plenty of people braved the weather to keep us busy all morning.
With numerous stalls, there was plenty of choice for everyone, while refreshments were
popular too. Our usual super raffle sold well over 5oo tickets and tombola provided more
than 50 prizes. All prizes were given by local people, businesses, and shops for which we
were most grateful. (The little girl who won the wonderful ''pussycat'' cake, donated by
the Bakehouse, was thrilled.) All our loyal helpers worked hard and there was a
lovely atmosphere as everyone enjoyed themselves. As well as a quantity of very
welcome cat food, the sale raised £653.95p, which was excellent. To all those who
supported this local Cat CHARITY please accept our most grateful thanks. Gaye Rees
