GIVE THE BEST POSSIBLE PRESENT TO PATIENTS IN NEED BY GIVING BLOOD.

As the weather starts to turn cooler and the nights draw close people will be forgiven for wanting to keep warm indoors. However the demand for blood never stops and National Blood Service (NBS) is reminding people to give blood, as this time of year is as important as any other for blood donation.
When you give blood you are doing something amazing as you are helping to save lives. Currently only 4 per cent of people able to give blood actually do so yet the NBS needs to collect 7,000 donations of blood every single day. Without donated blood hospitals in England and north Wales simply wouldn't have the blood products needed to treat patients.
Donated blood is used for a wide range of treatments and conditions including accidents and emergencies, general surgery and for those patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.  Rebecca Khan, spokeswoman for the NBS said, it's vital that people eligible to give blood support their local blood donor sessions.
