Sheringham Youth Club

Sheringham Youth Club again finds itself in Crisis
Again this year I find it necessary to remind parents, grandparents and any public spirited persons that this towns' youngster's Youth Club needs your help. The five stalwart parent leaders, who have continued to run the Club on a weekly basis, are finding it more and more difficult to run the Club without the assistance of more volunteers. We need at least four adult volunteers per session, Junior and Senior Club to supervise and assist the Leaders. (Please don't forget the leaders are volunteers too.)

It is really important that the support can be relied on and volunteers will commit to attend when they say so. If people could commit to one session in four or six weeks that would be fine.
The situation is so serious that the Club has had to cut the sessions over the next term to fortnightly. This will mean that the Club will be open at the Sheringham Community centre on November 22nd and December 6th.

The decision has been taken that without a commitment from a sufficient rota of volunteers the Club will cease to exist after Christmas. This decision has not been taken lightly and it would be with great reluctance by all involved. The Club has existed for many years giving our youngsters a valuable facility to meet and enjoy the company of their peers in a relaxed environment.
As a person who has over the years been involved in many voluntary youth issues and have experienced the satisfaction that brings, 1 hope you will consider what the loss of this facility would be to our youngsters and what this will mean to the community as a whole.
