North Norfolk Radio keeps Children Safe on Winter Roads

North Norfolk Radio has launched its annual road safety campaign for local children by giving away thousands of free reflective stickers. Children can put the stickers on their bikes, bags and coats, making them highly visible when walking to school.

An average of 37 under 16's are killed or seriously injured on the UK's roads each week and research shows the majority of under 9s cannot judge how fast vehicles are going.

North Norfolk Radio's Breakfast Show Presenter Simon Jupp is delighted to be part of the campaign:
"It's the second year of this hugely popular initiative in North Norfolk. Children love stickers so we can educate them about road safety in a fun, engaging way. With the clocks changing, it's peace of mind for parents".

Richard Wiseman the Road Safety Officer for Norfolk County Council said: "Norfolk County Council are glad to be on board supporting North Norfolk Radio with the Be Safe Be Seen campaign. It's a great idea because it's something easy that the kids can put on their bags to get them seen. We're always up for working with other organisations to get the message across".

The stickers are available via the North Norfolk Radio website, www.northnorfolkradio.com. and can be delivered to schools and clubs, with a personal appearance from one of the North Norfolk Radio presenters.
