National Blood Service

Blood stocks are currently running lower than we would like as we approach Christmas. Seasonal colds, flu and the winter vomiting bug have appeared earlier than last year - and as a result many donors in our area have been affected by illness and been unable to give blood as we approach the festive period. It really is vital that we have healthy blood stocks over the festive period and early in January.

Potential blood donors can find out more about blood donation and enrol as a blood donor by visiting www.blood.co.uk or calling the blood donor helpline on 08457 711 711.

SHERINGHAM DONOR SESSION

St Andrew's Church Hall, Cromer Road, Sheringham
4th March
13:00 to 15:30 and 16:30 to 19:00

Bonjour Cromer!

La Jolie Ronde French for children is opening a Language Centre in Cromer for 3 to 11 years old children due to local demand.

The government has recognized the need to learn a foreign language and has launched a National Languages strategy. One target of the strategy is that by the end of the decade, every primary school pupil aged 7 to 11 will have the chance to learn a foreign language.

An early start to learning a language has proven to be a resounding success and La Jolie Ronde can now offer children in Cromer a fun way to learn French. The aim is to give primary children a love and ability for the language at a time when they enjoy learning.

The children at the Cromer Surestart Children Centre have attended a taster session on Tuesday 9th December which was a great success.

The local La Jolie Ronde representative, Isabelle Valentin, can be contacted on:
01263 721 135.

Classes are starting at the beginning of January 2009.
