Youth of our Community - They
are the future |
They go past you on their four
wheels like a breath of fresh air, no not the mobility scooters, the skateboarders of our
town. Both means of transport can be a bit of a hazard at times, and that is why we need
to keep the mobility scooters on the road and the skateboarders at the Skate Park near
Splash. It is desperate for more maintenance, which takes funds, time, people and
dedication to keep it up and running, to a standard where the skateboarders still want to
use it.
The Skate Park has no statutory funding at all, at present we estimate that the Skate Park
takes £1500 per year to keep it running this we are trying to raise at the moment.
The Skate Park is not only used by the local youngsters. It is also used by a lot of
surrounding villages and tourist youths, and when you see 10 skateboarders in the town I
guarantee there will be double that using the Skate Park. It doesn't take a lot of working
out as to what will happen if we can't get any donations to support the Skate Park and
keep it up and running.
If you know, or are involved with a successful local business please ask them to put
forward a donation, no cheque is too large or small and we are not easily offended. All
cheques should be made payable to Sheringham Skateboard Club and handed in to:

My name is Tom Wynn from
Stockton Australia. My great uncle James White was stationed in Lower Sheringham
Coastguard Station in 1901 with his wife and daughter and two other coastguards, George
Brett and Thomas Offer.
I have tried on numerous occasions to see if there are any pictures of the coastguard
station or to find records of Great Uncle James but have not had any luck.
Is there anyone in Sheringham who has an old photograph I
could have. Tom Wynn
Has anyone heard of James White?
Please let us know at the paper and we can help to pass the information on.
