| IT'S NOT OVER
YET |
We were inundated with telephone calls and letters regarding our front page article in
Issue 11 saying that our Service Personnel deserved our support. I have to say that all of
them were supportive and many people merely telephoned to say thank you. Now that the
reporting on the war in the Gulf is no longer so intense, it does not mean that our
services do not still need our support. One thing that became obvious from the
conversations I have had with the families of service personnel, is that they have no
support structure, no-one they feel they can talk to who will understand their emotions
and fears at this time and they feel very isolated.
|
As a result of this, we have arranged an informal Coffee
Morning on 12th May, from 11:30am until 2:00pm at O'Neills Coffee & Snack Bar in The
Courtyard, Sheringham.
There will be a few people there who have experienced exactly what you are currently going
through. One is a lady with a close friend serving in the Gulf at present. Another is a
teenager who had experience of the last Gulf War and may be able to talk to those of you
with young children. If you feel you would be able to offer support to families, please
pop along for a coffee and chat.
This is not only for those families with loved ones in the Gulf, we are very aware that
our services are currently in many dangerous places and this coffee morning is for all.
Please come along and make some friends who know what you are going through. |
