It looks like it could be years before Sheringham receives Broadband. In a letter to
Norman Lamb MP, the BT Group stated that they had lowered the threshold levels previously
set. The North Walsham exchange to 350 user registrations and the Fakenham exchange also
to 350. Sounds good doesn't it? Unfortunately, as at 10 February 2003, 196 had registered
at North Walsham and only 71 at Fakenham. As we know, North Walsham is now going to get
it, but what about Sheringham? BT's Chairman, recently told industry analysts that
broadband rollout may not be achievable (to sparsely populated areas) for the next 10 - 20
years.
Small businesses in North Norfolk should not have to lag behind large cities in
technology, BT really needs to sort out its services to the smaller communitys like
Sheringham to ensure that our businesses are not the poor relations of the business world

INEKE'S SURGERY
We would like to apologise as Ineke has been unable to attend this surgery for several
weeks now. She is extremely unwell, indeed has been in hospital. We hope that by the time
