ROUND AND
ROUND THE GARDEN |
This witty observance of Alan Ayckbourn of his characters
is at his best in this, the last part of his Norman Conquest trilogy. Round and Round the
Garden follows two other equally successful runs in previous years by this now formidable
and wonderfully talented group. The play ran in the Little Theatre from 21-24th May and
was received exceptionally well by all every night, climaxing with a full house on the
Saturday.

The cast comprising of Matt Warrington who plays Norman, Nigel Manson playing Tom the vet,
Alison Bonnington playing the overpowering wife to Reg who is played by Alan Brodie, Annie
being played by Sarah Westlake and last but by no means least was Ruth, Norman's wife
played by Berni Alexandrou.
Each and every one was extremely well cast. Every character complementing the other
effortlessly. This play had it all from pace to pathos to silly ball games devised by Reg,
culminating, by the end of the evning, in the audience wanting more and more. Not only do
the actors deserve a pat on the back but also those souls who work so hard behind the
scenes. What more can I say, the whole run went without a single prompt leaving the prompt
Linda Clements somewhat bereft of a job. Derek Bull and Laura Bonnington executed stage
management to a tee. Props were plentiful and well gathered by Litza Balme. But one's hat
has to come off for the set that was designed by David Bonnington, who also directed the
production. His interpretation was I feel indeed beautifully carried out, the individual
motives of the characters were explored with just the right amount of depth initiating an
overall atmospheric play that delighted all who saw it. Well done to the Little Theatre
and above all, well done to Stage Direct. Please can we have some more? |

| Sheringham and
Cromer Round Table Host International Gathering |
This year, Sheringham and Cromer Round
Table are hosting the affiliated international round tables. Fellow 'tablers' from Sweden,
Germany and France are amongst a contingent of around 40 like-minded young men descending
on our area in mid June. Previous years have seen tablers hosted across Europe. Their
like-minded counterparts here are hosting foreign tablers, and some partners. A wide
programme of activities has been arranged for those attending, who are arriving throughout
Thursday and returning home on the Monday, ranging from trips out to garden parties, with
the occasional trip to a local drinking hole! Round Table is an organisation for men up to
the age of 45, and offers fun, friendship and fundraising. It commenced as an organisation
nearly 80 years ago, and has now spread worldwide, though its beginnings were in Norwich.
The UK round table organisation alone raises £6 million pounds for charity annually.
Potential members are always encouraged to come along to events, and if interested can
contact Cliff on Sheringham 823912 or at Whistlestop
