2 onions sliced
450g (1.lb) Minced Beef
2 teaspoons flour
50g (2oz) mushrooms, sliced
2 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
2 teaspoons Worcester sauce
1 tablespoon tomato puree

50g (2oz) butter
2 eggs (separated)
25g (1oz) cheese, grated

Heat the oil in a pan and saute the onions until softened. Add the beef and cook, stirring
to break up the lumps, for about 10mins until browned. Stir in the flour and cook for a
further 1-2 min. Add mushrooms, tomatoes, Worcester sauce, seasoning, tomato puree, and
stock. Bring to the boil, cover, lower the heat and simmer for 15mins. Mash the potatoes
and beat in the butter with seasoning. Beat in the egg yolks and cheese. Whisk the egg
whites until fluffy and fold them into potato mixture. Transfer the minced beef mixture to
an ovenproof dish and top with the potatoes. Mark the surface with the prongs of a fork
and cook in a moderately hot oven (190o c. 375o f gas 5.) for 35mins until the potatoes
are nicely browned. Serves 4. |
SUPER
SLIMMERS! |
| Sandra Wigglesworth, Payroll & Finance Assistant and
Janice Moss, Receptionist at BREAK Charity's Head Office, Davison House, 1 Montague Road,
Sheringham have just raised £203.50 in their Sponsored Slim, losing a combined total of
almost two and a half stone between them in just four months! Janice & Sandra, from
Sheringham and Cromer respectively, admit that their motivation has waned at times, but
knowing that other people have also got a vested interest makes them push themselves
harder. Sandra said; "We would like to thank everybody that contributed. We are not
going to give up just yet and have not yet reached our target weights, but we are going to
persevere! It is quite hard work for us though because we both like food too much!"
Money raised from the event will go towards raising essential funds for resources and
activities within BREAK's holiday centres at The Rainbow in Sheringham and The Sandcastle
in Hunstanton. If you have an ambition or something you would like to achieve, then how
about getting sponsored to do it and raise funds for a worthwhile cause, just like Sandra
and Janice? If you would like to know more about sponsorship and how you can help raise
funds for BREAK Charity, please contact the Fundraising department on 01263 822161. |

are the backbone that keep the Theatre running. They organise the coffee and evening bar,
front of house and ushering. We could not begin to operate without them."
Sheringham Little Theatre has over 90 volunteers and will use the week to celebrate the
work they do and to show appreciation for the relentless unpaid support. An open day is
being planned on Friday 6th June. For further information please contact Debbie Thompson

| SPECIAL
DAY FOR LOCAL LADY |
 |
|
Beryl Tovey was 101 years old on 21st May
and as a special surprise her family organised a lovely day for her.
Three generations of her family were |
invited to the North Norfolk
Railway to enjoy a trip on the train. Beryl's daughter, Joan Cook, Granddaughter, Wendy
Grant and Niece, Maureen Dennett joined her on her trip to Holt and back. The train
driver, Dave Burgess said he'd take it easy so the ride wouldn't be too bumpy for her.
Next was a pleasant lunch at the Sherry 'n' Ham, before returning to Crossways. Beryl is a
lifelong member of the Salvation Army, who moved to Sheringham 11 years ago and her last
surprise of the day - The Salvation Army Band played at Crossways during tea-time.
