STARS COME OUT IN SHERINGHAM
This years Sheringham Carnival will be a star studded event as celebrities from films, television and music come to North Norfolk to join the festivities. It begins on Sunday 3rd August when "Bill" star Graham Cole (PC Tony Stamp) comes to crown the Carnival Queen. On Wednesday 6th August Helen McDermott comes to join the Carnival Day festivities.

This year Carnival goes beyond its normal week and on Thursday 25th September, BBC Weather girl Julie Reinger will be presenting "An evening with Julie Reinger" at The Little Theatre. This is followed on Saturday 27th September by former "Spinner" Hughie Jones making a very welcome return to the town to star in our very first Folk Festival. The final event of the Carnival will be on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th October, with a star studded Star Wars Festival, The Men Behind The Masks, actors appearing include Jeremy Bulloch, Mike Edmonds, Richard LeParmentier, Alan Harris and Paul Blake.
Further details can be obtained from Peter Taylor, Carnival Press Officer on 01256 841716.

REALLY OLD CARNIVAL
As this years Carnival is almost upon us, we thought you would like to see one of the earliest photographs we have been supplied with so far.

Mrs Audrey Chapman was okay dressed in a sou'wester on this rainy day. She was only six! Taken around 1931 and as you can see, going over the old railway crossing.

St Andrew's Flower Festival
St Andrew's Flower Festival this year followed the theme "From Land's End to John O'Groats".
Sheringham Community Paper Mecki Green presents ideas to the committee and the Church decides which theme to follow each year. Mecki then contacted her vast range of flower arrangers who are church Members and Friends of the Church and gives them their topic.
They then interpret this their own way, they have a viewing day, where they share ideas and then they produce their displays.  This year the displays were as always absolutely fantastic.  As you entered the Church, the organist played softly in the background and the wonderful aroma from the plants and flowers made it an absolute pleasure to wander around and marvel at the extremely clever and artful arrangements.
This is the major annual fund raiser for St Andrew's and this year the total raised was £10,093.33. A massive amount of money to help the Church. Nationally it is well known and coach parties come from far and wide. Refreshments are served throughout and there are many craft stalls offering a wide variety of goods. St Andrew's would like to thank all who came and supported them and all whose hard work made this wonderful event happen. Sheringham Community Paper
