STAR SPANGLED GIRL
The first night of the Summer Season at the Little Theatre was a resounding success. The Gala night was attended by many local celebrities and dignitaries, including Paul Barnes and Helen McDermott.

The audience were enthralled from the beginning and roaring with laughter throughout the play, set in an American apartment block. Two young men working together to produce a protest paper begin to have problems when Miss Sophie Rauchmeyer moves in next door. Norman develops an obsessive crush on her, which she finds intimidating. He resorts to using stalker techniques, such as watching her through a telescope, painting messages on the stairs and leaving little presents. This behaviour leads to Sophie losing her job and becoming the secretary of the paper.

Sophie develops a similar crush on Andy and the upshot is that Norman walks in on them kissing. All ends well when they all decide to stay and run the paper together.

Throughout the whole performance, the chemistry between the actors was very apparent, they were so convincing, you believed the whole scenario. This was their first performance, straight from Drama School and I believe we will be seeing a lot more of them in the future.

A wonderful evening out and I personally cannot wait for the next one.
