Stand-in skipper Simon Bullimore lost the toss and
Sheringham were invited to bat by their opponents, Old Buckenham III's. Things began well
with both opening batsmen striking the ball well. S Walton was then bowled for 10 by Bills
and A Evans was caught by N Williams off the same bowler. J Neale lasted little time and
in-stepped Jez Wright to rescue the ship for Sheringham. He struck the ball very cleanly
and powered his way through the innings. A Graver scored 15 before he played a loose shot
and presented a catch to Potter who held on to the ball. R Woodman made 4 until he was out
to a fine catch from Harrison. This brought S Bullimore and Wright together who added a
superb 105 partnership. Wright struck 12 fours and 2 sixes in his fine knock of 91 before
he was out to Barnett. Bullimore made 18 before he was dismissed by Hill and this brought
V Peart and S Hudson together who added a useful 36 run partnership for the 9th wicket to
see Sheringham finish up on 210 - 8. Things began well for Sheringham as they took 2 early
wickets. G Ledidier was bowled by Wright for 1 and B Potter was trapped leg-before by
Hudson for 4. M Barnett and N Williams then came together and added a 59 run partnership,
however progress for Old Buckenham was very slow with many Sheringham bowlers bowling
maidens. 13yr old R. Charlwood also bowled very tightly. However, after the departure of
Williams for 19, things sped-up dramatically with Barnett pummelling the Sheringham
bowlers to the boundary. His innings was similar to Wright's earlier as he struck 12 fours
and 2 sixes and he moved rapidly up the scoring chart. He had reached 92 before he was
finally removed by V Peart in the last over. Old Buckenham's response of 128 - 4 was not
enough as Sheringham achieved a winning - draw. Sheringham Innings Total 210 - 8 Old

| The Sheringham U13 cricket squad invited
the U13 cricket squad from Beeston Hall School to play a 34 over match at the recreation
ground on Sunday 08-June-03. Captain Wes Neave having won the toss elected to bat first.
Openers Ryan Sturgess and Wes Neave put on 14 for the first wicket when Sturgess chasing a
wide ball, without moving his feet, edged this to the wicket keeper. James Colebrooke was
next in and whilst he displayed some technique, he was bowled playing all round a straight
delivery. Similarly Nathan Taylor was bowled in quick sucession again playing around a
straight delivery. In coming batsman David King, together with Wes Neave repaired some of
the early damage inflicted by the accurate Beeston Hall bowlers taking the score to 48 off
14 overs for the loss of 3 wickets before the game was abandoned owing to a torrential
downpour. The return match at Beeston Hall School on Sunday 29th June is eagerly awaited. |

| Internet Users of Sheringham Unite |
Many of you who use the Internet will know
how frustrating it can be at times. Slow connection speeds, engaged tones, disconnecting
before you have finished or concern about how much it is costing in terms of phone calls.
Imagine a service that was much faster, reliable and always available at a reasonable
fixed cost and which didn't tie up your phone line when it was being used. Well this is
possible but it needs your support to make it a reality. We need to meet a target level of
500 expressions of interest in the Sheringham and the surrounding area before the service
can be implemented. There are already 105 registrations of interest, so we are over 20% of
the way there already. To make the registration process easy at-sheringham.co.uk have
involved the long established Norfolk based Internet Access Provider Paston Chase and
set-up a registration scheme that will ensure your interest is registered and any
questions you may have are answered. At this stage you are not committing yourself in any
way, merely expressing your interest in this far superior service. To register your
interest go to http://www.at-sheringham.co.uk or http://www.paston.co.uk. Alternatively
phone Paston Chase who will register your details for you. If you have any queries about
registering or the proposed new service contact Paston Chase on 01603 502061. We will
print regular updates on the progress towards achieving the target and explain more about
how this type of service can benefit the people and businesses of Sheringham.
