It was glorious weather over the two-day, well-organised
event, set in the magnificent grounds of Holkham Hall, one of Britain's finest stately
homes, home to the Earl and Countess of Leicester. There were lots of trade stands from
all over the country, including many from local traders including Thaxters of Holt
(www.thaxtersofholt.com) and Julian Graves. There was something of interest for everybody
of all ages to watch. The camel racing was quite amusing, Eric the Oven Ready Parrot
should have been there to watch the birds of Prey doing their flying demonstrations! For
those of you who don't know Eric, he's a regular helper at the paper, pop up and see him
sometime.
Other events included The Minden Band of the Queen's Division, Jousting with The Knights
of Arkley, English Ladies Side Saddle Display, Mounted Games, Gundogs, Vintage Car Parade,
Terrier Racing, Freefall Display by The Tigers and an Aerobatics Display. The view from
the top of the ferris wheel was fabulous, if terrifying! |
