LOCAL MP COMPLETES TOUR OF NORTH NORFOLK VILLAGES.

Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for North Norfolk has completed this year's annual tour of villages. Norman Lamb said: "This week has been an excellent opportunity for me to meet people in their villages and to discuss the range of issues that concern them. Yet again the issue of affordable housing was raised by a lot of people. I am pleased that the Liberal Democrat controlled District Council has made this a top priority." Mr Lamb visited over 50 villages in the last 5 days.

"Folk Beyond the Pier" at
Sheringham Little Theatre

Sheringham Little Theatre will be hosting two "Folk Beyond the Pier" events this autumn/winter. Sunday 28th September features "An Evening with John Tams and Barry Coope'. John Tams, once described by a leading music magazine as Ôone of the ultimate British songwriters', has had a career spanning four decades in every medium. A former member of the groundbreaking Albion Band and Home Service folk-rock bands he is perhaps best known for his work at the National Theatre and as Rifleman Hagman in the 'Sharpe' television series. He is joined by his long time collaborator Barry Coope, a masterful keyboard player and singer who is equally notable as one third of the UK's foremost accapela trio, Coope, Boyes and Simpson and more recently as a member of the highly acclaimed group, Blue Murder.

The second event on Saturday 6th December is 'Another Evening With Harvey Andrews'. With over thirty-five years experience in the business as a song-smith, storyteller, raconteur and guitarist, Harvey Andrews is a shining example of how a performer armed with just a guitar can hold the attention of an audience for a whole evening. In what has become a yearly visit to the Norfolk coast since a number of appearances over the last few years including two on 'Folk on the Pier', this unique performer from the Midlands has acquired a strong following in the area.
