BROADBAND UPDATE |
Become a Broadband Campaign Volunteer
Take the frustration away - register today - Make a difference
We have reached well over 260 registrations of interest. Our target is 500 registrations
of interest. When we reach 500 registrations, BT is committed to upgrading the phone
exchange and making Broadband via your BT phone socket a reality. Broadband Internet is
such a different experience (many times faster and far more reliable than a dial up
connection). It doesn't tie up your phone line, so there is no need for a second line or
to worry about missing that important phone call. Recently BT and other providers have
reduced their broadband prices, making broadband via your BT socket the most affordable
form of broadband available. Last week we asked for volunteers who could spare a few hours
of their time to canvass their immediate areas of Sheringham, Upper Sheringham and Beeston
Regis. The aim being, to gather more registrations of interest. Thank you to everyone who
has volunteered. In the next issue we will update you on how the canvasing went.
If you are willing to help with future canvassing activity then please contact Bob or Mel
at the at-sheringham office. Anyone can register their interest as long as they have a BT
phone line.
If you haven't registered yet, you can register in a variety of ways, all are quick and
easy.
1. Website: http://www.at-sheringham.co.uk
2. Phone: Tel 01603 502061 and Norwich based Internet service provider Paston Chase they
will register your interest for you.
3. Paper Form: A blue A5 form was in a previous recent edition of at-sheringham, more
forms are available from the at-sheringham office on Station Road opposite the Tourist
Information office. Fill in the form and send it back to the at-sheringham office.
Thank you for your support, by registering you will be helping hundreds of like-minded
local individuals and businesses.
We have also contacted our local MP, Norman Lamb and he is fully supporting us and indeed
helping us. More news about that next issue. |

Sheringham's Chippies.
With respect, I think Audrey Chapman is incorrect in thinking the Co-op Street shop was
the second chippy in Sheringham. There was one in the High Street, in what is now Ellies
ice-cream parlour and which later became the Coronation Stores.
And alluding to ''Memories of a Sheringham Resident'' (Part 1) in issue 23 the name of the
second taxi-driver was STIBBONS not STEBBINGS. Yours Sincerely, Mr G Storey

Hi
Whilst you are, sensibly, staying out of the supermarket debate I wonder whether this
might be of interest for your magazine. It amused me. I was in Sheringham last week and
espied a car with two large ''Keep Tesco out of Sheringham'' posters in the rear windows.
Lying on the back seat were four full SAFEWAY bags!
