| CROQUET |
The Knockout Final of Bodham Croquet Club was held on
Thursday 25th September, a bright sunny day. The finalists, Paul Cowing and Bryan
Mapperley, had overcome some doughty opposition to get there during the long hot summer in
the course of which the court had got faster and faster; however, the recent heavy rain
had slowed it down again and contestants took some time to settle. Paul finally won on
time 21-12, peeling his partner ball through no less than 3 hoops on the way.
The Club All-Play-All (American) Tournament, which is decided on total points scored, was
won by the President, Harry Bruford, who took the maximum (26 points per game) from all
his opponents except Cedric Lytton. |

Dear Editor
Reference your SPORTS NEWS section, you may be interested in my son TOM PARKER. He joined
the City of Norwich Athletic Club in May of this year whilst in Year 7 (U13). His record
in three events are as follows: |

|
He has run at school, but not specifically
for any record. The season is over now but he will be training all winter and hoping to
improve on the above.
