| LAUNCH OF
NORTH NORFOLK RADIO |
 |
After several years campaigning by people locally for a
radio station aimed exclusively at people in this area, we are finally getting North
Norfolk Radio, the country's only radio station with a thatched roof! The county's newest
radio station goes on air on Monday 10 November at 6am - and North Norfolk Radio aims to
provide a quality service to people in communities across the area from Hunstanton to
Stalham - and from Wells to Aylsham. The stations will cater for the 25 - 55 age group in
a similar style to BBC Radio 2. The station will feature a number of well-known names on
air on 96.2 and 103.2FM. |
| Mike Ahern - one of Radio One's very first
presenters - will be waking the people of North Norfolk up at 6am - and he will be closely
followed at l0am by former Radio Norfolk presenter Andy Archer with a mixture of music,
guests and competitions. During drivetime, there is a blend of news, travel and
information to get you home safely and up-and-coming North Norfolk presenter Emma P will
bring you celebrity gossip, a guide to local entertainment and classic hits from the
Eighties to the present day from 6pm. |
Local news and information is also vital with regular
updates hourly throughout the day compiled by a news team based in North Norfolk and there
are also lots of opportunities to get your local events on air, they will also cover
charity events. Station manager Sharron Tuck explains: "The input of everyone across
North Norfolk is vital to make sure we are successful so we are always on the look-out for
interesting characters to chat to on air and interesting stories for our news-team to
cover. What is important is that everyone gets in touch and gets involved. We really want
to make sure we reflect all the people and communities in North Norfolk."
