On Friday 14th November, 'Mirror, Mirror' written and
performed by Peter Whitbread, is a one man play about a retired professor who discovers
relics of his past life among the clutter of the attic of his Fenland cottage. This
includes an old mirror which helps him recall half remembered events and characters, one
of whom is himself. In a vivid and compelling realisation of one of the most notorious
events in history, two celebrities, Kate O'Mara and Patricia Shakesby appear on Sunday
16th November in 'Shadow in the Sun', a dramatisation of the true account of events
leading up to the execution of Mary Stuart. Classic Tennesee Williams is featured on
Tuesday 18th November when Ovation Theatre present 'A Street Car Named Desire'. Written in
1947, this on-the-edge drama which is at times funny, at others deeply moving is regarded
as a major piece of modern theatre. Eastern Angles call on the younger audience when they
present Phil Michell's 'East Anglian Psychos'. The production on Thursday 27th November
which features video, sound and live camera sequences is intended to appeal to the 16 to
24 age group and presents a high calibre and compelling snapshot of dead end lives that
are confronted with choices facing them about their futures.The November drama season ends
on Saturday 29th with a premier performance of 'Sherlock Holmes - The Last Act' at
Sheringham before moving on to the West End. The one man play features Roger Llewelyn as
the world famus sleuth, drawn out of two years retirement, mourning the death of his dear
friend and companion Dr Watson and confronting perhaps his most complex case of all, his
own psyche!
