IN A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN
A local football team has scored itself a smart new image - thanks to a helping hand from Norwich and Peterborough Building Society!

Shane Clark is club coach for East Coast Warriors Under Eights Football Team. When the team needed new kit, he contacted staff at N&P's Sheringham branch to see if they could help. Caroline Knowles, manager of the branch at 29 High Street, offered to donate the kit for the eight boys in the team.

East Coast Warriors Football Club was established in August 2000 and currently has teams for children aged five to nine years old. The Under 8's team meets every Wednesday evening for training and plays its matches on Saturdays. The team plays in the North East Norfolk Youth League. Caroline went along to one of the team's training sessions to present the boys with their new kit. She said: "I'm delited we could help. The new kit is fantastic and the boys look very professional. Playing football at a young age is great to encourage the children, discipline and team work, as well as keeping them fit and out of mischief!" Shane said: "We are really pleased with the support from N&P. We couldn't have afforded the new kit without this help. The boys did really well last season and who knows, maybe we have a future England player in the squad!"
SHERINGHAM FC GET
CLUB OF THE MONTH
Sheringham FC are again enjoying a tremendous season and on Saturday 15 December they were presented with the club of the month award for the Anglian Combination. The presentation took place at the Sports Ground just before kick off against St Johns. As well as the award, the club were also presented with a certificate and ball by Billy Gallop from Lovewell Blake.

Captain Kristian Gleave, the club's leading scorer sadly missed the presentation as he was enjoying a well deserved rest on foreign soil. One fan told me that he was looking forward to Sheringham being promoted again this season.
