| SHERINGHAM
EVENING WOMEN'S INSTITUTE |
| At our AGM we reviewed a busy and successful year with
local community involvement in the Carnival, holding a MacMillan Coffee Morning, providing
story sacks for the Ladybird Playgroup, maintaining the Station Garden, donating to the
Air Ambulance, presenting a plaque to Sheringham in Bloom and taking part in the
Remembrance Day Parade. We had enjoyed a number of outings and social events, catered for
visiting coach groups and successfully presented our own resolution on Care of Older
People to the National AGM at the Albert Hall. Our President, Joan Cozens, was re-elected
for a further year, together with the existing Comittee, joined by Coral Batchelor and
Celia Dalton. Following an enjoyable supper, the winners of the Flower of the Month
Competition were 1. Shirley Pateman, 2. Pam Akiens, joint 3. Helena Beresford and Shirley
Longlands. Next month's event will be our Christmas Dinner at the Pinewood Banqueting
Rooms, when we will be joined by members of neighbouring Institutes. |
