in North Norfolk |
From January 2004 there will be salsa classes three nights
a week in North Norfolk. Sheringham, North Walsham and Aylsham play host to Duncan who is
a dance teacher and DJ with Norwich based "Salsa in Norwich" (SiN). He already
teaches and DJs for SiN in three locations in Norwich and was looking for somewhere to
fill the rest of his working week: "I used to live near Aylsham and my friends at the
time asked me to run a local salsa night.About two years later I am doing what they
asked!" "Salsa dancing is fun and sociable," Duncan explains. "You
don't have to bring a partner, there is great music and it helps you keep fit. You could
say it is the perfect night out". Absolute beginners are welcome and Duncan says
"you will be amazed how quickly you can learn salsa style. My classes are designed so
that you can start lerning any time you want and then learn as fast as you like."
In South America, New York, London, Madrid, Norwich and cities all over the world salsa
dancing is a very popular night out. Now North Norfolk can be added to the list!
Classes are on Monday at Sheringham Community Centre, Tuesday at North Walsham Community
Centre, Wednesday at Aylsham Youth Club. Times the same at each venue with a beginners
lesson 7.30-8.30, improvers lesson 8.30-9.30 and dancing 9.30-10.30. Entry £3.50 (£2.50

Red Oktober has a very busy schedule this coming year but
the first concert of 2004 is being held in Sheringham on Saturday 17th January - details
on the Calendar Records site at www.calrecords.co.uk - link from there to the Red Oktober
web site atwww.redoktober.org. This concert, which is being sponsored by 'Norfolk and
Norwich Association for the Blind', also features Harlequin whom many of you will know. |
