NIGHT OUT |
Many thanks go to the Sheringham Preservation Society for
a wonderful night out at the annual Christmas Dinner held at The Burlington Hotel on 4th
December. Sixty one people attended and the food was fantastic, many thanks to the staff
at the Burlington.
Chrissy Foster Worton organised the raffle and raised £77.00. A large Christmas cake was
made and donated to the raffle by Kathy Bird. Most of the prizes were won by the Shantymen
who all chanted 'the shantymen are here again' whenever one of their tickets were drawn,
much to the amusement of those attending! Everyone sang happy birthday to 60 year old
Shantyman Michael Holford. The Shantymen who never fail to entertain gave an excellent
performance getting toes tapping and many of us singing along.
William Rusdell would like to thank everyone for turning up he also said 'I'm full of
praise to Steve and Sue McDermot and staff at The Burlington'. |

LETTER |
Dear Editor
I have just read in the newspaper that Budgens plans have been agreed and that we are now
facing a foodstore on our already insufficient Car Park. In the same newspaper it was
reported that the car park would only be under pressure during some Saturdays in the
summer months and that 'locals' would know when peak times were and choose to shop at
non-peak times.
Hello! Is there anyone out there who like me, work for a living and has a young family? I
do not choose when I shop, I have to shop when time allows and guess what. My spare time
is on a Saturday afternoon, when I am not at work and do not have to get my kids to and
from school. Yet again, the plans for Sheringham are not for those who work for a living,
but I have no doubt, will suit those retired and on the dole quite nicely thank you!
Yours disappointed yet again, Mary J. |
