The above mentioned group
works in association with the Sheringham Preservation Society and The Sheringham Museum
Trust. At the present time we are in the process of creating a series of short books to
celebrate the town's history (Sheringham Cameos). The first book 'Memories of Old
Sheringham' by John Lown, was published in late 2003 and has been highly successful. For
one book in the series I have been asked to compile a history of the schools in Upper and
Lower Sheringham and Beeston and should like to include some personal accounts of events
and happenings of note; memories of any occasion which has stuck in the mind! This
includes memories from the more recent additions such as The High School Sixth Form and
the new school on the High School site.
I should be most grateful if you could publish this request in your publication.
Naturally, I shall be pleased to meet anyone in their own home if that way is more
convenient. Alternatively, a short written or typed note would be welcome. In the latter
case a note of the school and year attended would be important. To help in each case I add
my address and telephone number in Sheringham and Dereham. Recognitions of contributions
will be published in the book.
