Plants that grow from bulbs, corms and tubers provide an
easy means of filling the garden with colour. One can almost guarantee they will grow and
produce plenty of lovely blooms. They all need plenty of sun and a reasonably fertile,
well-drained soil, which can be improved before planting by digging in peat and adding a
slow-release fertilizer.

| I was chatting away to this fella for about forty five
minutes. Telling him all about our friends, who was having an affair with whom, etc. When
he got up, he told me heÕd enjoyed our little chat and hoped that one day he would meet
all those colourful characters! He wasnÕt who I thought he was. |

The result of a bric-a-brac stall on Sheringham market run
by Cromer and Sheringham Rotary Club was a £500 cheque for the Norfolk Air Ambulance. Our
picture shows Rotary Club President Alan Caine (right) presenting the cheque to Peter
Mendham, former Norwich City Footballer and now fund-raiser for the Air Ambulance who
dropped into the club lunch on Wednesday 25th February.
