Tony the Tiger struts his stuff with Olympic swimmer Nick
Gillingham. Local children arrived at Sheringham's Splash Leisure Complex on
Saturday 28th February to meet Kellogg's Frosties Tony the Tiger and be presented with
their ASA swimming awards by Olympic Silver medallist swimmer Nick Gillingham, MBE.
The much awaited 'meeting' of two of Britain's finest sporting heroes was dominated by
action out of the pool as kids and parents cheered Tony on, as he danced his way around
the complex. Nick, meanwhile, preferred to chat with local swimmers, scouting for the
Olympians of tomorrow!
Stephen Trow, the centre's manager, said of the day: "I am delighted by how things
have gone. The children were presented with their ASA swimming awards today and you can
see by the look on their faces how much they have enjoyed the whole experience. It further
emphasises how much fun learning to swim can really be!" |

The two award sessions were attended by over 300 people,
including the Mayor of Sheringham, Mac McGinn.
The ASA's Business Development Manager, Amanda Church added: "We have really enjoyed
working with Stephen and his team and would like to thank them for all their hard work
with the Kelloggs Frosties Awards Scheme in Sheringham. Their efforts, along with the
hundreds of others working in leisure centres and swimming pools across the country, have
helped to make the scheme so sucessful." The Sheringham Splash complex has over
350 children currently attending lessons that incorporates the Kelloggs Frosties Awards
Scheme and the National Plan for Teaching. The age range of children attending is from 3
to 15 years. If you want to find out how you can get involved in the Kelloggs Frosties

My Grandad was a small hold farmer, keeping
pigs, chickens & a small crop farm in Colney near Norwich. As a young man he has told
me of the great times he had with his pigeons.
On the bases of discussions with a local man that told us he could once again bring great
enjoyment to my granddad, who is now 79 & still very fit, he has constructed a lovely
avery out side his sitting room window.
If you could help us find some young red checkers we would be so greatfull. Could you
please return this message with any possible leads to were we could buy.
Many thanks. Mrs Donna-Marie Berry
