Youngsters Read All About It. |
| Pupils at a local school are turning over a
new leaf in their education now after a helping hand from Norwich and Peterborough
Building Society! Kate Davis is library manager at Sheringham High School. When the School
began reviewing its library resources, Kate contacted staff at N&Ps Sheringham
branch to see if they could help. Caroline Knowles, manager of the branch at 29 High
Street, offered to donate 40 new reading books. |
 |
Sheringham High School currently has 750 pupils, aged from
11-18 years old. The Schools library resources are reviewed on an ongoing basis and
high interest reading books are always in demand.
Pupils from Woodfield Sixth Form Centre, also on Holt road, use the library facility too.
The books Caroline has provided are designed for teenages to encourage them to read and
help increase reading ability.
Caroline went along to the School to meet some of the pupils who will benefit from her
donation. She said Im delighted we could help out. Obviously being able
to read is crucial and if these books encourage children to read more and increase ability
then its absolutely great.
Kate said Books and resources need replacing and updating regularly, which can
prove quite costly. Its great when a local company shows its support and were
really pleased with the help from Norwich and Peterborough. |

At the beach with my three-year-old granddaughter she ran up to me and
led me to the shore, where there was a dead seagull in the sand. "What happened to
it?" she asked.
"It died and went to Heaven" I said.
She thought for a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?" |
