FIRST ALTERNATIVE CARNIVAL QUEEN |

At The Dunstable Arms on Friday 23rd July, blonde bombshell Marc Smith was selected
from the dozens of hopefuls to be the first ever, Alternative Carnival Queen. The music
was excellent, the atmosphere fun filled and welcoming and it was a good start to the
fundraising for the local charities supported by Sheringham Carnival. Jane Betts, the
organiser of the event, cut an authoritative figure in her red leather jacket and kept all
the ‘laddies’ in line.
Most of those who attended had made a terrific effort with some really outstanding
costumes, (I’m sure one of the lads had ‘waxed’!), those who had not come
in costume quite happily paid their ‘fine’.
I always say that a picture paints a thousand words, so I will leave you to see for
