Sheringham Community Paper
As we are now in the middle of the Tourist season I thought it might to appropriate to remind both local residents and our visitors about keeping their property secure this ranges from Locking cars, leaving valuables on view to being careful when using bank cards and putting purses and wallets away from view . Most of this type of theft is opportunist, so simple precautions such as zipping up hand bags or carrying wallets in sealable pockets will prevent all the problems of lost or fraudulently used cards. On Speaking to local Fisherman there have been petrol cans / tanks stolen from their boats whilst stored on the slipway. This practice is at least a nuisance causing financial loss to the worst very dangerous if a boat runs out of fuel whilst at sea there could be serious consequences. I am pleased to say during the England games we had very few problems in the town every body enjoyed the occasion even though the result wasn’t the one we would have liked. I have recently received complaints of antisocial behaviour in the Loke area of the Town and have asked Officers to give this extra attention.
Yours Sincerely, Tony Toynton, Sheringham police station

ROTARY CLUB
The new club year for Cromer and Sheringham Rotary Club has begun with a very special ceremony, it being the occasion of the first female President of the club.

Marie Littlefair is an experienced Rotarian, having transferred two years ago from the Nottingham Sunrise club.

President of Sheringham and Cromer Rotary Club, 2004
She made the move to Cromer to take on the role of Manager at Highfield Residential Care Home in Cromer - and switched from early morning Rotary meetings to the mid-day Wednesday meetings at he Dormy House hotel.

Marie takes on the role of President for the year in which all Rotarians will be celebrating the foundation of Rotary in 1905, and the club is already planning a number of events to support local charities and to join with other clubs in the district to mark the centenary.

Marie is seen in the photograph with Sheringham businessman Jason Bell (also well-known as Cromer's Town Crier!) who takes on the role of vice President of the club.
