Our next meeting will be held at St Joseph’s Parish Centre, Cromer Road at 7.30pm on Thursday 16 September when the speaker will be Paul Payne on Daffodils for Exhibition and Garden. New members and visitors are always welcome.
A couple from Northampton on holiday here complained about how rude people were. Her elderly husband, walking with a stick was run over by a pushchair and some women just pushed him out of the way into the road.

I told her, I live here, this must (I hope) be other holidaymakers, as Sheringham is a friendly place. After I finished talking with them they left with a smile on their faces. Ineke.
Matthews Norfolk Brass Band
Having seen the Salvation Army band recently, my desire to see more brass was in my heart as I came to St Peter’s Church on the first night of Carnival week to see Matthew’s Norfolk Brass. This band looks fantastic in its uniforms and it was nice to see a fair percentage of women in their midst. Their music is a very tight and wonderful mix of dynamics and the volume from a brass band can be amazing. I recognised a few of their tunes but the clever and intricate arrangements are food for anyone with a love of music. The church was packed and it was a really relaxed atmosphere with all the excitement of the Carnival to come. St Peter’s Church is a really good venue, as I’ve found out in recent weeks and can only raise it’s profile if it keeps putting on concerts of this calibre. Well done. Tim Jefferson
READERS LETTER
Dear Editor & all your helpers
I’ve been like the weather lately, heavy, but yesterday was kindly taken by a lovely Taxi man and his kind wife up to Cumbria to visit family, a very long journey. The roads were quite good mostly and the drivers also well behaved but now and then a few naughty mad ones! I was very impressed, as I haven’t been on the roads much lately, I drove around Norfolk a lot during my WAAF days. I really wanted to thank David of David’s Taxis for the journey, which he had planned, with plenty of Loo and refreshment stops for me. He and his wife stayed overnight and brought me back the next day. Cheers to you all.
