East Coast Warriors A U10s 2 v 1 Holt U10s
This was a battling performance from both teams; the first half was an evenly contested
game with both teams having good chances to open the scoring. John Reynolds was on top of
his game keeping Holt at bay. In the second half East Coast began to pass the ball about
and took control of the game, Jodi Norris and Shane Cox worked tirelessly and eventually a
brilliant passing move from East Coast ended with Kyla Love scoring a fine goal. East
Coast kept pressing and after some more fine work Kyla Love stroked in her second. Holt to
their credit kept trying and their hard work paid off when a good passing move from them
saw them score with seconds to go.
Sheringham U10s 1 v 0 East Coast Warriors A U10s
Straight after playing a hard game East Coast looked tired and didn't look up for the
challenge of another hard game. Tom Fleming and Thomas Harrison were doing really well in
defence but were helpless to stop a well-taken goal from Sheringham. Ali Burghall and
Shane Cox worked hard in midfield but just didn't look like they had the energy for
another hard game. To East Coasts credit in the second half they had a good go at
Sheringham and were unlucky not to score through Jodi Norris. East Coast kept going to the
final whistle but could not find a way through the very physical Sheringham team. |

Traffic is the biggest single killer of 12-16 year olds.
In 2002, 35 teenagers aged 12-15 were killed as pedestrians on the roads and statistics
show that they are twice as likely to be knocked down as toddlers.
One in two teens know someone their own age who's been in a road accident. Mostly they get
hurt because they're distracted - on the phone, sending a text, listening to music - and
don't pay attention. |
 |
Life is full of distractions - whether it's your mobile
phone, your mates or just your mind on something else - so it's easy to forget about
keeping yourself safe, especially on the roads.
When out and about as a pedestrian make sure you concentrate and are careful at all times:
almost one in 10 teenagers who have been involved in accidents say they were not looking
or paying attention. |
| Distractions such as using personal stereos,
making mobile phone calls and text messaging while walking are a big danger, but one in
four teenagers chat on their mobile whilst crossing the road. To be safe, make sure you're
not distracted. To live out the experience of a crash have a look at the interactive
seatbelts website www.thinkseatbelts.com. |
