Am I alone in thinking that our Country is changing and not for the
better? So many things are no longer allowed due to some Government or European ruling
that soon we will all have to lock ourselves away indoors, speak to no-one, touch nothing,
play nothing, indeed survive and not 'live'.What nonsense there is nowadays, children
unable to play the simple game of tag at school because they might fall and hurt
themselves. I do not mean to sound harsh, but surely that is what children do and parents
just have to accept it. As a mother of two grown children, I have had to play nurse
countless times over the years for injuries they got both in and out of school. My son in
particular used to run up to me when I collected him from school, red in the face from the
exertion of playing catch, with the knee out of his trousers, plenty of grit under the
skin and a grin as they say here, 'from ear to lug'! It did him no harm. My daughter
fractured her arm playing in the playground, after the initial tears, she was so proud of
her cast which everybody signed. Is this 'care' for the protection of our children or to
protect against the increasing numbers of compensation hungry people who just want to make
a quick easy buck instead of working for a lving like the rest of us?
A Very concerned Granny!
