East Coast Warriors B 13 0 Worsted Wolves Although Worsted started well, they were no match for a rampant East Coast Warriors B team who played excellent football all through the match. A great breakaway and cross by Will Parker allowed Cameron Humphrey to slot home his first. He scored his and Warriors second after a brilliant run and pass from Ben Conn. Nick Blake got the third with a good shot before Cameron Humphrey scored his third with a well-taken shot. Cameron got his fourth with another well-taken shot, which was followed by a pair of superb goals by Will Parker to make it 7-0 at half time. Cameron made way for Jacob Knowles in the second half and he soon made an impression, scoring two excellent goals and then a run down the wing and cross left Josh Glister to score his first. A great run and shot from Alex Harvey allowed Jacob Knowles to make it a hat-trick from the rebound and a few minutes later Jacob got his fourth. The 13th goal came from Josh Glister after Will Parker burned the goalkeepers hands with a powerful shot and Josh headed in from the rebound. A brilliant all-round performance from East Coast Warriors B which saw Cameron Humphrey and Jacob Knowles both scoring four goals. East Coast Warriors B 2 0 Colt Jags QUILT SHOW Sat: 30th April, Sun 1st May, Mon 2nd May, NEW BOOK RELEASE This month sees the publication in North Norfolk of an unusual book by
local author Stan Sabberton:
Stan Sabberton writes about life as a wartime cathedral chorister and the Norwich blitz, about cycling around Brittany in the 1950s, together with a kaleidoscope of short pieces describing incidents in Britain, Europe and beyond during a career coving the past 60 years, often against a background of wars and rumours of wars. The influence of his radical Norwich forebears is apparent throughout. Chapter headings for example take the names of the French revolutionary calendar months, such as Floreal ( blossom time) and Ventose ( the windy season), reflecting the closeness of the natural seasons as the events unfold. Amazingly, buried in all the fragmented narrative, the reader will uncover nuggets of information- a North Norfolk coastal walk, a recipe using organic garden produce, a diary of climate change, a short story set in London and the mysterious fragment of a lost poem found on a cupboard door. CRICKET CONGRATULATIONS to our U14s who took on the might of Vauxhall Mallards fielding L. Findlay, Preston, Smith, White, T. Williams & Jones. Sheringham were asked to bat first and a good healthy opening stand between George Whittaker (Captain) and Lewis Gregory set a foundation for the others to follow which they did. Ben Flanagan and Jack Russon were sound with Matthew Broughton & Will Young adding a good contribution in the final 3 overs. Sheringham amassed 186 for the loss of 5 wickets setting a target for their opponents of 161. Vauxhall found it tough going against a good bowling attack and whilst they were just ahead of the run chase, the Sheringham slow bowlers of George Whittaker 2-1-7-2 and Ben Flanagan 3-0-19-0 kept it together with Ben bowling a fantastic final over conceding only 4 runs to seal the match in Sheringham favour. Vauxhall Mallard totalled 173 for the loss of 3 wickets net run rate 158. Sheringham won by 3 runs and will now go into the Regional Finals at the UEA on Saturday 9th April 2005. Matches starting at 9:00am.
