| FANTASTIC
MONTH FOR THE SHERINGHAM ROYAL BRITISH LEGION |
We said Thanks in style! The Victory party on 21
August at the Tyneside was packed to the rafters with party goers who thoroughly enjoyed
the old fashioned afternoon of fun. It was really good to see so many smiling faces and
listen to the stories of their war. Party hats adorned their heads, flags waved and
tonsils were given a good work out as we sang along to the wartime favourites. We are
certainly raising the profile of this very successful branch and we always welcome new
members.
All money raised by the raffle is going to the central fund to be used for the welfare of
ex-service people and their dependents, old and young, so it was all in a good cause. Our
thanks go to the many businesses and individuals in town who donated the prizes for our
raffle.
Earlier in the month we entered both Sheringham and Cromer Carnivals and we are proud to
say that we got Second Prize in our class at Sheringham and Third at Cromer. The float was
as usual met by cheers as we completed both town's circuits, which was wonderful. The
Branch would like to thank David Farrow who designed and made the float and Dawn Fayers
for the beautiful costumes. Roll on 2006!
