FUN DAY A HUGE SUCCESS
Despite inclement weather and fewer people in town, East Coast Warriors
F.C.'s Fun Day was a great success. Stalls, ranging from a Treasure Hunt to a Coconut Shy,
had a continuous flow of people trying their luck. The Barbecue never stopped and
eventually sold out at the evening Disco. The Face Painting had a continuous queue from
10.30am through to 3pm with the children sporting a great variety of colourful faces. The
two football nets were bulging all day long, with some great scores from adults and
children. One of the most popular stalls was the Stocks, and the coaches were well
drenched showing the accuracy of the sponge throwing. The drinks tombola/lucky dip sold
out, all the coconuts were won (75 in all), the cake stall was cleared and the tea/coffee
counter did well, thanks to the weather!
Both the toy and gift Tombolas cleared most of their goods and the putting competition had
a great following. The Hoopla, Lucky Dip and all the other stalls all helped to raise
£750-£800 towards the Under 11s trip to Holland next year.
With most of the stalls cleared of all their prizes, including the Hook a Duck, the event
finished half an hour early. The evening disco was a sell-out and everyone who attended
had a great time dancing the night away. The club would like to thank local traders and
pubs for their contribution of charcoal, burgers, sausages, wine, and many other items.
