North Walsham A U11s 7 v 2 East Coast Warriors U11s
On a lovely sunny winters morning a cracking game of football was played between East Coast and the table topping North Walsham, right from the first whistle Walsham set there stall out and pressed forward putting East Coast under severe pressure, East Coast were slow to get going and soon found themselves 1-0 down.  East Coast managed to sort themselves out and began to hold there shape and after some fine work they managed to equalise when Jodi Norris struck with a fine shot, North Walsham then retook the lead straight away but for the rest of the first half East Coast didn't let them settle and looked to be winning the midfield battle, at half time it was 2-1.

In the second half Patrick Johnson changed the North Walsham formation to combat the midfield of East Coast and it paid off straight away when they made it 3-1 with a wonderful passing move finished off by AJ Johnson.  East Coast lost there way a little bit and began to sit off the North Walsham players inviting lots of pressure and soon found themselves 6 -1 down, but to there credit they regained there composure and after a superb ball in by Shane Cox, Ben Conn was on hand to knock the ball in, Ben had turned in one of his best performances of the season.  North Walsham being the good footballing team that they are then made it 7-2.  To East Coasts credit they battled throughout the game and the scoreline doesn't really do them justice of how well they all played.  Special mention must go to John Reynolds in goal for East Coast who was outstanding and turned in a man of the match performance.

W.E.A. Sheringham - Popular Art course to be repeated

Margaret Forrester's course for the Spring Term on Renaissance Painting and Sculpture is to run twice a week.  The same lecture will be given on Tuesday afternoons at St Joseph's Catholic Church Hall, and again on Friday afternoons at St Andrew's Methodist Church Hall, both in Cromer Road, Sheringham.  We are doing this to achieve manageable numbers, since past experience suggests the course will be very popular.  Both courses last 10 weeks, and run from 2.30 until 4.00 p.m.  The cost is £35.00 (free if on benefit).  The Tuesday class starts on 10th January and the Friday class on 13th January 2006.

To enrol, send a cheque for £35.00, made out to WEA Sheringham Branch, to Jane Idiens, Beaconswood, Roman Camp, West Runton, Cromer, Norfolk. NR27 9ND. Please state which afternoon you prefer. Alternatively, for more information ring 01263 837779.

CATS PROTECTION

Sue is now fostering Gringo, as he needs to get more exercise to encourage his wound to heal.  However, investigating the chimney was not quite what the vet had in mind!  Sputnik has now had the results of his blood tests, and we were delighted that all proved negative.  He will only need to continue taking the tablets he is on at present.

Returning from a shopping trip on December 17th, Stephanie discovered a small box with some cat food on top and five little kittens inside.  As it was one of the coldest days of the year they were lucky that she had not gone out for the day, or decided the box just contained cat food.  They were all very cold but responded well to a nice warm heat pad next to a radiator and some kitten food mixed with special cat milk to eat.   The kittens quickly recovered from their ordeal and have now all been booked. Although there was a note explaining their situation attached together with some money, Stephanie would rather have been contacted by their owner to arrange to take them in.   As we have people who will foster kittens in their homes we can usually take kittens in straight away at this time of year.

If you are looking for a cat or kitten, call Stephanie on 01692 535858.   Alternatively you can visit www.northwalshamcats.co.uk for a description and photographs of the cats before giving her a call on the above number.  If you are leaving a message on the answer phone, please make sure you leave your full name and telephone number even if you have called us before.  We sometimes cannot respond to a call because we do not have these details.
