Dear @ Sheringham,

I read with some interest the letter written by Mrs Christie regarding Tesco.  I would not normally reply to someone that was putting forward a view regarding this matter, however in this case I feel that her letter was a personal attack on me.  I set up the PROTESC group so that those people in Sheringham that had a different view and wanted Tesco in the town had a voice.  I believe this is called democracy.  If anyone wishes they can go on our web site and all the letters sent out and replies received are posted for all to read.  We are not connected to Tesco in any way and we are funding everything out of our own pockets.  As for SCAMROD I have no idea where Mrs Christie gets her information from but I have at no time stated or even hinted that either SCAMROD or the Chamber of Trade (who is the other group opposing Tesco) has intimidated anyone.   I have been friends with the chairman of SCAMROD for more years than I like to remember and I hold him and the Chairman of the Chamber of Trade with the highest respect and I would in no way do any other than to respect their views.  If Mrs Christie was at the planning meetings she would have heard a young lady speaking on behalf of SCAMROD, the points that she raised was how the younger generation in Sheringham viewed Tesco and at the end of her talk she was applauded by all including myself.  She was a credit to the younger generation and to Sheringham and at this planning meeting Mrs Christie would also have heard one of the representatives from Tesco stating to those present that they were offering 3 hours free parking.  I have written to Tesco and asked them to confirm this to us and I will post the reply on our website  www.protesc.co.uk
Please can we get away from personal attacks and if Mrs Christie or anyone else has any comments regarding Tesco as to why it would be a good or bad for the town we would really like to hear them and maybe between the groups involved we can get a store that will be beneficial to Sheringham
Pam Blyth.
