Buxton Youth U11s 0 v 1 East Coast Warriors U11s
East Coast turned in one of their best team performances of the season on a big and heavy pitch, right from the first whistle they didn't let Buxton settle and were first to the ball every time.  East Coast played Shane Cox in the centre of defence and with Tom Fleming beside him they turned in a superb performance nullifying any attacking moves that Buxton made.  Tom Harrison and Ali Burghall also performed excellently at right and left back with both of them seeming to cover acres of ground.  The warriors were unlucky in the first half not to take the lead with Ben Conn and Jacob Knowles both going close.  At half time it was 0-0.
In the second half East Coast carried on in the same vain that they had finished the first half, keeping their shape and passing the ball around the boggy pitch really well, from a free kick way inside the warriors half Tom Harrison battled through two Buxton players to release the ball to Jodi Norris who exquisitely crossed the ball for Nick Blake to latch on to and dispatch past the Buxton keeper.  East Coast then came under a little bit of pressure but the whole team just stopped every thing that Buxton could throw at them. Kyla Love, Will Parker and Cameron Humphrey all deserve a mention for their tireless work on the pitch, John Reynolds in goal was as cool as ever and dealt with any shots that got through, James Mitchell and Josh Glister also put in some sterling work making it a real team performance, it finished 0-1 to East Coast.
East Coast Warriors U11s 1 v 1 Aylsham Wanderers U11s
This was the first game back after the christmas break and despite the lack of training for both teams they turned in an entertaining game.  East Coast got off to a good start and looked to be dominating the early exchanges with the defence looking solid and the midfield being very industrious.  Ben Conn and Will Parker managed to break through the aylsham defence on a couple of occasions but they just didn't have the legs to finish it off with the Alysham boys getting back and clearing the ball well.  At half time it was 0-0.
In the second half Alysham got off to a flyer beating the Warriors off side trap and racing through to put the ball beyond James Mitchell who up till then had not really been troubled.  East Coast began to step it up a bit but again some woeful finishing in front of goal let them down, with 10 minutes remaining a flick on from Ben Conn saw Will Parker race through to slot the ball past the advancing  Aylsham keeper.  In the end the match finished 1-1 with both teams acquitting themselves very well.

CATS PROTECTION

Most of your will now be aware that one of the key aims of Cats Protection is to encourage the neutering of all cats and kittens not required for breeding.  To encourage people to have their cats neutered we give assistance by offering vouchers to those who need our financial help to cover the cost of the operation.

As last year's kittens are now reaching maturity and with Spring in the Air, we anticipate hearing the "patter of tiny paws" over the next few months with lots of phone calls from people who are unable to find homes for their kittens.  As a consequence, several Branches of Cats Protection have got together to launch a special "East Anglian Neutering Campaign".  We will be offering Special Vouchers, to cover the full cost of neutering cats and kittens to people on benefits.  The offer is available at selected vets from 14th February to 14th March inclusive.  The vouchers will be offered on a first come, first served basis and the campaign could finish early if it proves too popular and our funds run out.  If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call Stephanie on 01692 535858.  From the information you give her she will be able to advise you if you are eligible and will forward the voucher direct to your chosen vets.  All you will need to do is make the appointment with the vet and take the cat along for his or her operation.  Once neutered the females will be a lot healthier (not having to care for several litters of kittens a year) and the males run less risk of being injured as they are less likely to wander so far looking for available females.

If you are looking for a cat or kitten, call Stephanie on 01692 535858. Alternatively you can visit www.northwalshamcats.co.uk for a description and photographs of the cats before giving her a call on the above number.
