CREAM OF THE CROP

New owners of the beauty salon CREAM are to be commended for their hard work in turning what has for years been a bit of an eyesore into a beautiful focal point at the bottom of the High Street.  Local people have been popping their heads round the door just to say well done as the recent restoration work has turned the building into a focal point ready for our visitors this coming summer season.  Instead of being a place that people just walked past without interest it now creates a lovely view with the sea in the background as you round the corner, this bright building catches your eye.

But the new owners do not want to stop there, they want to try to find out the history of the building itself, they have gleaned very litle so far and that is where you come in.    When was this part added to what is obviously an old fishermans cottage?   Who did it and why?  Do you have any old photographs which could be used to build up the history and preserve it for the next generation?

So often in modern times old buildings are forgotten and replaced with modern builds but here we are lucky to have another old and loved place being given a new lease of life and proving that sometimes the old ones are the best.  So, get your pens out, dig through your photos and let us see what we can find out.
