East Coast Warriors U11s 4 v 3 Wendene Wanderers U11s
East Coast continued their good run by notching up another victory against Wendene, the Warriors started passing the ball about lovely and for the first twenty minutes they were running wendene ragged with the ball firmly camped in their half.  East Coast opened the scoring when Shane Cox burst down the right to cut in and fire the ball past the Wendene keeper, some more constant pressure saw Jodi Norris latch on to a ball and drill it past the keeper.  Wendene then pulled a goal back out of nowhere when some indecision in the Warriors defence gave the Wendene striker a chance and he lifted it over John Reynolds head giving him no chance.  East Coast got the bit between the teeth again and pushed forward, they worked the ball wide and crossed the ball into the box only for the keeper to push the ball to Jacob Knowles who was having another good game down the left to knock in.  Right from the kick-off Wendene lofted the ball in the air and some more poor defending resulted in the Wendene having a clear run on goal and knocking past the advancing Warriors keeper, at half time it was 3-2.

In the second half East Coast tried to get a bit of shape back after some poor work had let Wendene get back into the game, but it didn't work like that with both teams playing down the center of the park and cancelling each other out, but another long ball hit between the Warriors defence saw the a Wendene striker latch on to the ball and fire it goal wards, John Reynolds got a hand to it but the pace of the shot took it in.  The Warriors then had to dig deep because they knew they had gifted the game away and were rewarded for their efforts when some fine work down the right saw a ball fired across the box, the warriors were queuing up to score but it just seemed to ping around the box until Tommy Bywaters fired it goal wards for it somehow to find the back of the net. East Coast ran out 4-3 winners but they knew that a lack of discipline could of cost them the game, but on the whole it was another fine performance.

CATS PROTECTION

Most of the cats in care have only been with us a very short time.   However, a few of our longer-term residents require special homes with people prepared to give them plenty of time to adapt to their new surroundings.  Three of these special cats have recently left us.  The first, Snitch, had joined us as a kitten last year with her 5 brothers and sisters.  Although happy with her fosterer, she had not reacted well when potential new owners came to see her.  However, when her new family arrived, she was very friendly and affectionate to them and they offered her a new home.  She has now happily settled with them and their other cat.

The other two cats, Coco and Cola, had been with us for a very long time, having joined us from a colony of cats.  Although very timid they are also very gentle cats, that love to communicate with other cats.  When Helen, one of our fosterers, recently lost one of her cats, she and her family decided they would like to offer these two lovely girls a permanent home.  Although they have access to the entire house, at present they are learning to adapt to their new surroundings and spend most of the time behind the sofa in the living room.  However, Coco has already ventured into the bedroom and Cola has allowed Helen to stroke her under the chin.  Being sociable cats they will appreciate the company of Helen's other cats (which include Milly, the little blind cat, re-homed by us over 2 years ago).  Although we miss these two lovely girls, we could not ask for a better home for them than with Helen and her family.

If you are looking for a cat, call Stephanie on 01692 535858.  Alternatively, you can visit www.northwalshamcats.co.uk for descriptions and photographs of the cats before giving her a call on the above number.
